Marathon

Konichiwa!
Every year I try and run one marathon. Last year I went to Mymar to run around the Began Temples and the year before that I ran on the Great Wall Of China. Running marathons gives me a great excuse to travel as well a positive goal to work towards.
This year I applied for both Tokyo and Kyoto marathons. Traditionally both marathons are very difficult to enter as many people apply, however i heard your chances can dramatically increase if you are a forign visitor. So, I applied using my New Zealand address to increase my chances of getting in and as luck would have it, i got accepted for Kyoto.
The Kyoto marathon is 42km long through some of the most famous land marks the city has to offer. I have ran all my previous marathons during summer in tempretures above 30degrees. Kyoto however, will be ran in Febuary , making it my first winter run. Although i am already pale i am scared my skin will turn another shade of white ;)
I am preparing for this marathon by running long distances every week and of course training at Ten Clover. Every week my running distance will increase untill race day. Currently i run 21km every saturday but, this will increase to 30-35km over the next couple of months.
I will update you on my results....
I would like to take this opportunity to wish you all a happy festive season. Christmas is favourite holiday and great time to relax and enjoy friends and family. This year I will go travelling with my cousin around Japan.
All the best,
Ryan
