Happy new year!
I hope you you are all feeling fit and ready for another year of Kickboxing.
Over my Christmas and New Years holidays I went traveling across Japan. This time however I upgraded from the gym floors to capsual hotels and internet cafes (luxary)
My first stop from Tokyo was Nagoya. I only stayed for one night but, I got to meet some great people including the captain of the Toyota Rugby Team. In the morning I popped in to see the Nagoya castle. Toyota was closed however.
My next stop was Osaka. What a great city! I ate a lot of Okinomiaki and Takoaki.....美味しいかた! I stayed two nights in capsual hotels and just relaxed.
The next city was Hiroshima. On the way there I stoped Hemoji castle (Japans most famous castle....I think) it was amazing. But Hiroshima.... What a beautiful city! Although a little cold. I saw the dome and the war museum then went and spent the day at Miajima shrine/island. Miajima has to be one of the most beautiful places in Japan...so peaceful.
Next stop was Fukeoka. Although there was not a lot to see in Fukeoka the people were beautiful, so I felt like one of locals straight away :) Fukeola also had amazing food. I exspecially enjoyed the Raman.
The final stop on my trip was Nagasaki. This was the most scenic city I have been to in Japan. I spent hours walking around the water front and looking around the war park and museums. It reminded me of the New Zealand city Wellington.
Finally I had to begin my journey back to Tokyo. On my final day I traveled 17hours from Hiroshima to Tokyo by Local Train. I dont.want to do that again haha.
Im looking forward to a new year and seeing you all again.
