Sumos
2018.06.15
Hello All,
I hope you are well and training hard.
When I first arrived in Japan I had a list of things I wanted to do. One of those things was to watch live Sumo Wrestling. After 3 years I finally experienced it.
It was a Monday morning and I had to wake up at 5am so I could be at Ryogoku at 7. I could only purchase the cheaps seats which meant I was at the very back of the stadium.
The Amature fights started at 10am untill 2pm. They ranged from High school boys to very fat salary men. Some of these fights were the most entertaining of the day.
For lunch I ate chanko nabe and meet a few famous sumos who were taking pictures. In the afternoon the professionals started. I was amazed by the speed, skill and agility...If kickboxing doesnt work out, I might try sumo ;)
The Sumos were a great day out and exciting to watch. It was one of my best experiences in Japan.
See you all soon,
Ryan
