I hope everyone is well and training hard.

Recently there has been a lot of excitment around Golden Week and the new empreor. Many of my students have been teaching me about Japanese history and the Japanese Royal Family. I feel excited to be present in such an exciting time for Japan and to be apart of a small part of Japans long history. 

Coming from New Zealand we are apart of the Commonwealth and the Brittish Royal family. However, many New Zealanders do not feel there is a relationship between the two. New Zealand is very young so our culture is mostly Rugby and Beer. It is refreshing to experience a traditional culture such as Japan.

For Golden Week I am going to Malaysia for 10 days. I will travel from Singapor to Kuala Lumpur and everywhere inbetween. I will share my experiences in my next blog.
