Recently I went traveling to Chiang Rai, north of Thailand. It is a beautiful and quite town famous for its temples, Hill Tribes and Golden Triangle.

Chiang Rai has 3 temples, White, Blue and Black. I had previously been to the white and blue and this time got to experience the black. It was very beautiful decorated with modern art. On the grounds there are a lot of little houses each with their own dark theme e.g. Bed Room, Bath room etc

On the second day I traveled 70km outside of Chiang Rai to the Golden Triangle. This location is the point where Laos, Myanmar and Thailand join and is famous for opium trade in the past. Although it is no longer producing much opium it is the worlds largest producer of Methamphetamine. After applying a job I traveled back to Chiang Rai.

On my third day I ventured out into the hills where I stayed with the Akha hill tribe in Mae Salong. This hill tribe is famous for importing narcotics over the Myanmar boarder and into Thailand. Despite their illegal activities they have a strong spiritual presences which is nice to be around. The town of Mae Salong is also very nice with lots of art work and green tea. It was founded in 1970 by a rouge Chinese army, who got into the opium trade.

I really enjoyed my trip but am now back at work.
